SUPPLIER OF THE MOMENT

Kit Myers Photography

Kit began shooting weddings back in 2012 after graduating from university and has been doing so ever since!

He draws inspiration from the authentic moments at weddings - those heartfelt hugs before the ceremony, the subtle glances between the couple during their vows, and the laughter and tears shared during speeches.

As a frequent visitor to Gate Street, Kit highlights the venue's countless picture-perfect spots and adds, 'I'm always treated to a stunning sunset here!'

Decor

How can I contact couples either side of my day to discuss flower sharing?

Please contact the office if you are interested in flower sharing. If you have weddings either side of your day, we can then pop your details (email/phone number) to these couples who will contact you direct if they are interested in flower sharing. Please note, we cannot be held liable for any arrangements made.

Can we have real candles?

We allow real, lit candles on the tables providing they are on a secure base, I.e. candle holder/lantern. We ask that all other candles round the venue are LED – this is for Health & Safety reasons.

What décor can we have in the venue?

You can have as much or as little décor as you like! We just ask any décor put up does not leave any permanent damage to the venue, i.e. nails in paintwork would not be authorised. Nails can be used in the wooden beams of the Barn. Check out the ‘Get Inspired’ gallery for further inspo!

What tables do you have around the venue we can use?

There are plenty of tables round the venue that can be used for things such as a guestbook, card box etc. We recommend coming down closer to your date to see what is available and in situ. It is very easy during the set up of your wedding for us to assist and advise where we recommend items to go and can grab additional tables if required.

Can someone from the venue help us with décor?

Venue staff are extremely busy the morning of your wedding setting up the venue and making sure everything is perfect! We are very much here to help, however recommend that you have a team from the wedding party who are there to help with assisting with any décor if needs be.

Do we have to clear away our items at the end of the evening?

At the end of the evening, the bar staff will collect all of your items together from the venue and neatly place them in the locked storage area, ready for you to collect the following morning. Any décor that would require bar staff to go up a ladder, i.e. bunting, we ask the be taken down by someone from the wedding party by 8.30am the following morning. If you have used a supplier for décor, i.e. draping or additional fairy lights, please advise them they must deliver the day of the wedding and collect/take down the same day by midnight.

Do you have any restrictions for confetti?

Due to the venue being located within our farm, we only allow natural fresh or dried petal confetti. This does not include 'biodegradable' paper confetti. If you are in need of some confetti for your Wedding Day, please note you can purchase lovely natural petal confetti from the Macmillan Cancer Support Shop here

Transport & Parking

Does uber/taxi work in the area?

Due to our rural location, uber unfortunately does not currently work in our area! Local taxi companies are very familiar with our location, however we strongly advise you and your guests to prebook taxis to avoid any issues the evening of the wedding.

What is the closest train station?

Shalford is our closest train station however we recommend using Guildford Train Station as this is a main line with taxis available.

Can we hire a bus/coach?

Absolutely! We have frequently had bus/coach companies dropping off and collecting and is a great way to transport your guests. Our country lanes are used to buses/coaches, so is not an issue. London Routemasters are a fun recommendation!

Is there overnight parking?

Yes – we have our overflow/overnight car park which is on the left as you approach the main entrance with the main car park on your right. Guests staying overnight or guests who would like to leave their cars overnight, are encouraged to park here and collect them by 11am latest.

Catering

Can we use non-approved caterers?

Yes, however there is a non-approved caterers fee of £2500 and we must meet them well in advance to confirm we are happy with them. At the meeting, we can agree that 50% of the fee can be refunded post event providing all is well.

Do you have recommended Asian Caterers?

Yes! We work with Mandira’s Kitchen & Laguna Catering. The non-approved caterers fee for both is reduced by 50%, totalling £1250. As above, 50% of this fee can further be refunded providing all is well post event.

Do we have to use approved evening food suppliers?

No, you are welcome to use any Evening Food Supplier you like as long as they do not need access to our kitchen and are self sufficient (only requiring access to electricity and water). We do however have our recommended Food Vans on our website who we love!

How do we arrange our tasting?

To arrange your tasting, you will need to contact your chosen caterer direct who will host this for you.

Accommodation

How do we book the accommodation?

All of the onsite accommodation is automatically reserved for you when you book your day with us. Please let us know which units you would like to book and we can send you over the relevant booking forms to complete and return to us.

Can our guests book the accommodation?

Frequently, we will have your guests contacting us direct during the lead up to the wedding asking if there are any units available to book. We will advise them that the accommodation is reserved for the couple and that they will need to contact you direct to see if there is a unit available to them. If you know in advance which units you would like to book, it is helpful if you can advise us of this so when one of your guests call, we know which units are available to them without having to follow the above procedure.

Do your accommodation prices ever increase?

Yes, please note are rates are subject to increase. If you would like to secure the current rates, you are able to make a 50% deposit for the accommodation to do so.

What are the access times to the accommodation?

Access times depend on if you have events before/after your day. If all of the accommodation is being used the night before and there is an event the following day, check-in is at midday and checkout the following morning is at 10am. If the day before your wedding is free, you are welcome to book the accommodation for the night before the wedding and a 10% booking discount is applied providing no change over is required. If there is no event the day after your wedding, you are welcome to extend the check-out time for an additional cost.

Can we book the accommodation for 2 nights?

Absolutely! As above. Please note, there is no access to the Farmhouse Kitchen or Dining Room during your stay until morning when breakfast is reserved.

Access & Delivery

When can I drop off my items before the wedding?

We ask that you come down to drop off your items the week of the wedding where they will then be kept in a locked storage area. This is ideal as if you are providing your own drink for the day and there is a wedding the day before you, we can load this into the fridges the night before your wedding so it is nice and chilled for the day! You are also welcome to bring down decorations to store so you do not have to worry about brining these down the morning of your wedding.

Where do I collect all my items the following morning and by what time?

All of your items at the end of the evening will be collected together and placed into the storage shed which is located at the back of our kitchen. This will be made aware to you when you come down to collect your items. We ask this is cleared by 9.30am. Any items you do not require i.e. rubbish, opened wine, foliage can be left and we will dispose of this for you.

If I have a Church Service, is there a different access point opposed to the car park?

Yes! It is nice for you to have a slightly separate entrance from your guests as you arrive back from the Church. This is signposted ‘Bridal Parking’ which leads you to the Bridal Courtyard area.

Can we decorate the venue the day before the wedding?

Absolutely! This heavily depends on availability which can be confirmed roughly a month before your date.

Can we arrange a drink delivery separately?

Yes, if you have used an external supplier such as Majestic Wines, please just let us know a date and time to expect this so we can put this in our diary. Please advise your supplier, we do not accept kerbside deliveries so they will need to unload this in to your designated area.
